This fabulously coloured sign dates from the 1960s, and was created to advertise Carson’s Spectro-matic Paint. The sign is completely original and has a few marks in keeping with it’s age, including a paint can ring (rather appropriately!), and one corner of the wooden frame has been damaged. A brilliant, colourful, piece for your home.
Walter Carson and Son was founded in 1794 and were best known for exclusively selling the Original Anti-Corrosion Paint. The company was succeeded by Walter Carson and Sons in 1860, who were based in both Ludgate Hill, London and Bachelor’s Walk, Dublin. Carson’s were the first company in England to provide a bespoke paint colour service, using the Spectro-matic colour dispensing machine, revolutionising home decorating for the masses.
