A vintage wooden advertising board for Billecart Champagne with the original paint and minimal damage, dating from around the 1960s. The cartoon style design of a smartly dressed gentleman jumping over a bottle of Billecart Champagne was created by Herve Moran for the company in 1959, and originally used for a large scale billboard poster.
Maison Billecart-Salmon was established in 1818 following the marriage of Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, and it was based in their family’s hometown of Mareuil-Sur-Ay, North-Eastern France. Louis Salmon (Elisabeth’s brother) joined the business and dedicated himself to the creation of their wines, whilst Nicolas oversaw the commercial activity. The company remains family owned to this day.
