Japanese Biscuit Tin

A beautifully decorated biscuit jar, made in Japan, dating from the first half of the 20th century. The highly detailed decoration features birds, flora, and fauna, and the jar features a metal handle and lid. The makers marks can be found on the bottom, one of which is believed to be the family crest of the Shimazu family, commonly found on Satsuma wares. A stunning oriental addition to a coffee table or sideboard.
