The Lanchester Motor Company Limited were founded in Birmingham in 1899 by the three Lanchester brothers; Frederick, George, and Frank. In 1930, the company was bought by BSA Group under The Daimler Company, at which point they moved from Birmingham to the Daimler plant at Sandy Lane, Coventry. Lanchester and Daimler were both bought by Jaguar in 1960s, and production of Lanchester cars ceased.
